State Formation Fees
Each State in the US has its own Fees for different services they provide. Before Forming your LLC, there are important things you must know to make the best and most accurate decision possible.
Opening an LLC in any state reauires first and RA address. This is non-negociable and there is no way around it. There are two ways you can proceed about it:
1- Choose an RA service provider in your chosen state. These tend to be less expensive in the long run, and they almost always give you a privacy option so you may choose their address as your business address. This makes sure your personal information is not publicaly visible in the state website.
2- Use an RA service provider that gives you a registered agent addredd free for 1 year. This is budget friendly, however, it is only in the beginning. Because these tend to charge much more than the local RA service providers annualy. Most LLC formation services provide you this option.
The other things to always lookout for before making any decision are the following things:
1- Formation Fee: Each state has an LLC formation fee they charge so you can have an LLC in their state. Some of them are affordable, others are simply too much. Before making a fast decision, look at the table below listing all state formation fees going from cheapest to most expensive. Note, however, that the formation fee is not the only factors, as other things like annual report and processing time play a big role too. Always search those thigns as well before making a decision.
2- Annual Report: Although there are no federal taxes for Non-U.S residents, there are still annual compliance requirements to know about. The annual report is one of them. This is a state dependant requirement, which means each state has its annual report fee, and some of them waive it completely. Therefore, it is best for you to choose a state where the Annual Report is 0$.
3-Processing Speed: Some states process your LLC formation request faster than others. Make sure you search the processing speed for your chosen state so you don't get surprised along the way or have to wait for a very long time.
These are the most important things to know before setting up your LLC with any service provider. Always lookup these details about any state you are interested in to get the full picture about it.
